Volunteer Opportunities
Thank you for your interest in supporting Morrison through volunteering, please submit an application in Word or PDF and a volunteer questionnaire in Word or PDF. We will keep your application on file and contact you if a position become available. Applications can be send by email to volunteer@morrisonkids.org, faxed to (503)233-4359, or mailed to 11035 NE Sandy Boulevard, Portland, OR 97220.

If you have already spoken with a specific program that is interested in bringing you on as a volunteer, please have the program manager contact us directly at volunteer@morrisonkids.org.

If you are interested in a  Masters level or Bachelor’s level internship at Morrison, please send an Internship Information Sheet and resume to our Human Resources department at jobs@morrisonkids.org. Internship opportunities are based on program need and ability to provide staff oversight. Placement cannot be guaranteed. If you are planning an internship in order to complete a practicum requirement, please begin the application process a minimum of three months in advance of when you need to begin. Childcare
  • Provide childcare services while family members are in groups during busy intake times.
  • Provide structured art and recreational activities for groups of children -- color, read books, do puzzles, play board games and have some fun!
Children's Group Facilitator
  • Provide a supportive environment and activities for kids to build self-confidence and develop problem solving skills
Hands on Projects
  • Great for a team building project
  • Help us with short-term projects such as painting, landscaping, cleaning and maintenance at various Morrison locations
Mentors
  • Be a positive role model to a young adult, age 12-17
  • Provide nurturing, emotional support and help build self-esteem
  • Substance abuse background preferred for some
  • Multi-cultural background appreciated
  • One-year commitment highly preferred
Mentors on Wheels
  • Outpatient programs have a high need for volunteer drivers to drive kids to and from their appointments. Be a friend and companion to an at-risk youth, ages five through 17, by helping transport them
  • Help youth improve self-esteem through a positive relationship with an adult
  • Mostly Monday – Thursday afternoons/evenings
  • One-year commitment preferred
Office Support
  • Answer phones, help us make copies and file documents.
  • Assemble packets
  • Assist with special projects
Special Events
  • Volunteer for a day or an evening at a special fundraising event

Volunteers play an integral role in helping Morrison achieve its mission of serving Oregon’s most vulnerable children. The civic participation of these caring individuals enriches the lives of the children we serve and contributes to the leadership of the organization.

Members of the community who choose to donate their time and skills with nonprofits can make a priceless difference in the quality of service an organization provides to the public.
