POSITION SUMMARY:

The relief treatment milieu worker is responsible for tracking and reporting clients’ treatment progress.  Duties include basic care taking, child management, relationship-building, tracking and reporting client’s treatment progress and providing group leadership.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

A typical background for the person who can fulfill the duties of this position is as follows:
  • Experience working with children
  • Bachelor’s degree or eligibility for QHMA if in a mental health position/role.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing with a broad variety of people, including staff, supervisors and management.
  • Works effectively as a team member.
  • Maintains appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to perform counseling and relationship skills effectively.
  • Demonstrates group leadership and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to assist in the physical management of children including physical restraints and escorts of children weighing up to 200 lbs. (once training is completed).
  • Regularly attend scheduled shifts, be punctual for scheduled shifts and meetings and be in a condition suitable for assuming responsibilities of position.
  • Effectively monitor safety and demonstrate group management skills and effectively de-escalate potentially chaotic or volatile situations.
  • Stays calm and emotionally available in an environment serving children with emotional disturbances.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Requires driving personal or agency vehicle, a valid driver’s license for state of residency, personal auto liability insurance, and a driving record permitting coverage under corporate auto liability policy.
  • Must pass criminal history background check.
  • Maintenance of current Standard First Aid and CPR certification is required.
  • Must pass and maintain Oregon Intervention System training and certification.

COMPENSATION:
$10.32 -$10.55 Hourly DOE
