Incredible Years
The Incredible Years is funded by the Portland Children's Levy.

The Incredible Years' weekly parenting groups improve child-rearing decisions and strengthen families. Studies show that the program reduces children's aggression and behavior problems, and increases social skills. Children's mental health centers, child protective agencies, Head Start centers and schools worldwide provide Incredible Years groups.

Success factors include intensive training of facilitators, a thoroughly tested and consistent curriculum, family-friendliness, and sometimes a related program for children, called Dinosaur School.

Morrison Child and Family Services is the only organization in Oregon to receive recognition from SAMHSA, the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. We were awarded the Science to Service Award in the Mental Health Promotion category for our implementation of the Incredible Years.

More on The Incredible Years
Carolyn Webster-Stratton, a professor at the University of Washington, developed the early-intervention parenting program. And, thanks to a partnership between the Portland Children's Levy and Morrison, Portland has played a key role in the implementation of The Incredible Years.
