Home & School-based Services
Home-based Intensive Out-Patient Services (HIOPS) provides intensive in-home family therapy as an add-on to traditional outpatient services. It is typically a 3-6 month treatment episode and can continue longer if clinically appropriate. A referral to HIOPS is indicated when it has been identified that intervening in family dynamics is key to improving the functioning of a client. When there are barriers to this in the clinic setting, HIOPS can provide family therapy on an intensive level in the community.
Based on a family systems model, therapy is the main focus of intervention. Supportive help with accessing outside resources is also available. All other typical outpatient services are available through the HIOPS program. These services are often offered in addition to the work being done on a group or individual level at the clinic, or can be stand-alone services.
