Windermere Lends Us a Hand
June 18, 2010
Morrison had all hands on deck at its Hand In Hand site June 18, when Windermere Cronin & Caplan Realty Group, Inc. devoted its annual Community Service Day to
sprucing up the facility. A small army of volunteers from their Lloyd Tower office painted, planted, organized, and built compost covers at the school
at 11456 NE Knott.
Meanwhile, at
Morrison’s Mt. Scott location, additional industrious volunteers cleaned and organized a storage unit for our Rosemont School and Paso program.
Thank you Windermere, and to Home Depot and Trace Brash Construction for their donations of time and supplies!

Nordstrom Children's Tile Project
April 24, 2010
Nordstrom invited Morrison to partner in its Children's Tile Project, led by artist Charlie Bigger. On Saturday, April 24, 2010, 200 children ages 5-12 painted vivid, whimsical tiles to be permanently installed in the floor of the Kids’ Wear departments at the newly remodeled Nordstrom at Washington Square.
This fall, Nordstrom will unveil the children’s tiles at a very special tile-find party. Children who participated in the project will be invited to the store to discover their beautifully-installed tile, while enjoying entertainment and treats.
Big Results from Willamette Give!Guide
Winter 2009
The Give!Guide is Willamette Week’s year-end fundraiser to encourage philanthropy among 18-35 year olds.
Thanks to the generous support of friends of Morrison Child & Family Services, we exceeded our goal and raised $8,750 through the 2009 Willamette Week Give!Guide. 100% of these donations directly support Morrison's Parent Mentor program that helps addicted parents successfully complete treatment and return to parenting.
Holiday Giving
Winter 2009
The holiday season can be an especially difficult time for many of Morrison’s clients and families. Under the leadership and generously donated hours of Rebecca Frinell, the Holiday Giving program matched corporate and individual donors with the wishes of 812 children whom otherwise would not otherwise have received a gift or experienced the magic of the holiday season. Through the generosity of our supporters Morrison received more than $65,000 in cash donations and in-kind gifts.

1st Annual Deschutes Brewery Chefs' Challenge
December 14, 2009
Morrison Child & Family Services was the recipient of proceeds raised by the first annual Deschutes’ Chef’s Challenge. Read more about the event.
December 14, 2009 featured a select 75 guests in Portland’s Deschutes Brewery with a handful of the city’s hottest chefs to be pitted against each other in a fierce but friendly competition to benefit Morrison Child and Family Services. Chefs Cathy Whims (Nostrana), Adam Berger (Ten 01 and Tabla), Pascal Chureau (Fenouil), Paul Bachand (Farm to Fork) and Kurt Spak (Alba Osteria) joined Deschutes Executive Chef Jeff Usinowicz in creating a signature dish to pair with their chosen Deschutes beer.
Judges Gary Fish (Deschutes owner), Cole Danehower (Northwest Palate co-publisher), Amy Faust (The Wolf radio host 99.5), John Foyston (Oregonian beer columnist) and Alan Kropf (Mutineer Magazine) awarded the best food/beer pairing of the evening to Chef Spak for his pairing of Jubelale with Agnolotti al Plin with Oregon Black Truffles, while event guests presented the People’s Choice Award to Chef Bachand for his pairing of Long Shadow Black IPA with Smoked Trout, Leek and Potato Mason Jar Pie, with Fresh Herb and Winter Radish Salad.
“In private conversations, John Foyston and I agreed that after attending hundreds of beer dinners over our careers (and some very, very good ones) this may have been the best one ever,” Gary Fish.
